Maharam Rotenberg

  1. Rav Meir miRotenburg, Maharam bar Baruch HaLevi, was a Talmid of the Ohr Zarua and the Rebbe of the Rosh, Hagahot Maimoniot, and Mordechai and is the "R' Meir" or "RM" quoted in their works.[1]
  2. The Tosafot commentary to Yoma comes from the Maharam Rutenberg.[2]
  3. Hagahot Maimoniot and Mahari Mintz testify that Minhag Ashkenaz is to follow the Maharam Rotenberg.[3]
