  1. It is forbidden to walk beyond the Techum on Shabbat. In general, the techum is a 2000 Amah boundary beginning from 4 amot area around a person.[1]Some hold that walking beyond 12 mil on shabbat is a Biblical prohibition, while others consider it a rabbinic prohibition.[2]
