  1. Rav Meir miRotenburg, Maharam bar Baruch HaLevi, was a Talmid of the Ohr Zarua[1] and Rash and the Rebbe of the Rosh, Hagahot Maimoniot, and Mordechai and is the "R' Meir," "RM," "Menuchat Eden," and "מ"ע" quoted in their works.[2]
  2. The Mahram penned thousands of responsa, which are recorded by his students in their own works.[3]
  3. The Tosafot commentary to Yoma comes from the Maharam Rutenberg.[4]
  4. Hagahot Maimoniot and Mahari Mintz testify that Minhag Ashkenaz is to follow the Maharam Rotenberg.[5]
  5. The Acharonim discourage arguing on Maharam with just Sevara.[6]
  6. Maharam Rotenberg recommended following the Rif in cases where Tosafot do not disagree.[7]
